Shatila Camp witnessed yesterday the launch of the “A Touch of Cleanliness” project, attended by the Head of Turkey’s Felicity Party, Mr. Mahmut Arıkan, accompanied by a delegation of party leaders and members of parliament. A delegation from the Turkish IMG Association also took part, led by its President Akif Çoban and the Projects Manager, as the main funding and supporting body of the initiative.

Representing Al-Shifaa Medical and Humanitarian Services were Executive Director Dr. Majdi Krayyem, Public Relations Manager Mr. Youssef Al-Khalil, and Beirut Area Manager Mr. Mohammad Hassanein, in addition to the association’s ambulance and civil defense teams in Beirut. The event was also attended by representatives of popular committees, factions, parties, and civil society organizations within the camp.

The “A Touch of Cleanliness” project aims to promote public health within the camp by improving environmental conditions, reducing the spread of diseases, organizing shared spaces, and providing a safe and healthy environment for families—especially children and the elderly.

The event also included the distribution of winter clothing and toys to children, along with humanitarian assistance to some of the most vulnerable families in the camp, reflecting the strong humanitarian commitment of the supporting Turkish organizations toward the Palestinian community.

This project represents an important step toward improving quality of life in the camp and strengthening health awareness and community-driven initiatives that support a healthier environment.
